Daytona Bike Week, Florida: 29th Feb - 9th March 2008

Daytona

OK maybe Daytona is a bit more than your normal ride-out, but hey, we like to do things differently.

It all started when Bill mentioned he had accommodation booked on Daytona Beach for Bike Week 2008, so we thought "That's a good idea, lets all go."

Unfortunately Bill couldn't go, so Roger being the decent guy that he is said "I suppose I could go in your place." So that was all settled and Bill began making the arrangements, booking flights, car hire, Harley hire, etc.

Roger, Gav and Les

After the flight and drive from Orlando to Daytona, we checked in, dumped our bags and had a wander along the beach.

Daytona Beach

What happened?....The beach was full before we took our shirts off....

Then off to find the bikes!!!.............

As you can see we found them without too much trouble. The main street was full of them, lots of great bikes and great people.

..He has started out on his own and was showing off his newest creation.

The bikes

Sunday morning duly arrived and we went to Daytona Harley Davidson on North Beach Street. Bill was here in January 08 and had already arranged our bikes with Patrick Rey the rental manager.Bill had told me that I had a trike and was looking forward to it,

I wasn't expecting this though!

Trike!

Anyway we picked up our bikes and went for a run. Roger had a Road King, Les got a nice Fat Boy...

Roger and Les

........and I got an ex-police Road King, which still had the siren fitted.. and it worked, it was so much fun handing out on-the-spot fines!!!!! Please notice that we all took safety very seriously - notice the sunglasses.

Les and Gav

We all spent loads of time around bikes of all different shapes and sizes, here's just a few of them.
